Dear Cousin, It's time to start planning for the Federation of Genealogical Societies Conference for 2006. The Adkins Family Organization provides a paid membership in the Federation of Genealogical Societies for each of its members. (Your membership in Adkins Family Organization is free, too! But, you have to join the Adkins Family Organization to get the free membership in the Federation of Genealogical Societies.) One of the most valuable benefits of our organization’s membership in the Federation of Genealogical Societies is their annual conference. This year the Federation of Genealogical Societies is joining the New England Genealogical Society to host the largest genealogical conference ever held. The 2006 theme is "The Birthplace of American Genealogy." It's being held at the Hynes Convention Center, in Boston, Massachusetts, on August 30th and 31st through September 1st and 2nd, 2006. (Membership is NOT required to attend this conference. Share the news with your genealogical friends!) The conference is four solid days of lectures, workshops and classes, along with evening discussion sessions; almost two hundred topics! The conference prices are very reasonable. For more information visit the FGS website at www.fgs.org .Along with this, there are luncheons—each with a program, a reception, and a banquet. This is the conference for the nation’s genealogists. Please take a look at www.fgs.org and think about joining Adkins Family Organization. You can contact us at info@adkinsfamily.org ; our web site is www.adkinsfamily.org . Being a member is as involved as you choose to be, you can sit back and browse our web site, or take an active part in one of our projects. If you’re really serious about genealogy, consider volunteering to serve as our delegate to this year’s FGS Conference.
