Dear Cousin,

 It’s time for you to plan for the 2002 Reunion! 

We’re rapidly putting our plans together. We have contracted with Oxford Suites, run by the Baney family, for our reunion headquarters. They have offered us an excellent rate for rooms and services.  

Now it’s time for you to do some planning. We are getting together on Memorial Day weekend—that’s a Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday for many of us, and at least a three-day holiday for most others. We will be gathering starting Friday afternoon, and plan on spending the weekend exploring the local area, as well as visiting with family.  

Pendleton brings to mind Round Up and Rodeo, Pendleton Woolen Mills and the Wild West. But don’t overlook the rest of this rich and culturally diverse area of Oregon. After a visit, you’ll be thinking: Antiques, Award-Winning Dining, Cultural Institute, Fishing, Golf, History, Jazz, Symphony, Tennis, Water Parks, and Oregon Trail!

Both Umatilla and Morrow Counties are a big part of the family’s history. And, both counties have excellent museums and genealogical societies. We hope you find a special interest to explore, whether it’s the local scenery, family genealogy, or just sitting by the pool with new found family and relaxing.

Please begin your planning now. And, please contact other family members and make sure they know about the reunion, too. This year, more than ever, family is important.
